Safety and privacy

Share the item, not more information than necessary.

Public discovery and private accountability serve different jobs. TrackMyShit keeps that boundary visible.

Coarse public locations

Marketplace discovery uses an approximate area. Exact handoff details do not belong on a public listing.

Location is opt-in

Search starts blank. The browser asks for device location only after you press “Use my location.”

Evidence with context

Condition notes, photos, and custody events support an accountable record without becoming public marketing content.

Reporting and recovery

Community safety rules, missing-item workflows, and reporting paths remain available when a normal return does not happen.

Before a handoff

  • Meet in a sensible place.
  • Confirm the item and condition.
  • Agree on timing and permitted sub-loans.
  • Do not put private addresses in public text.

If something feels wrong

Pause the transaction. Use the in-product record, reporting tools, and documented contact path. Emergency services—not this platform—handle immediate danger.
